We had Atlantic-OASE staff visit Art of the Yard during their build to catch some awesome A-O Pro Tips!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A-O Pro Tip #14 &#8211; Koi Safety, Winterizing a Koi Pond with Art of the Yard<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In our 14th A-O Pro Tip, Shane shows us their set up to ensure great aeration and safety for the koi in both the summer and winter months!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the video here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"790\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sDshjPPN-Dg?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This koi pond will have bottom drains, an inline pump and an OASE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticwatergardens.com\/products\/categories\/water-garden\/proficlear-premium\">ProfiClear<\/a> drumline filter. Shane explains that they wanted their setup to be able to be run in both the summer and the winter. They won&#8217;t run the bottom drains in the winter because it would &#8220;hyper-cool&#8221; the water at the bottom of the pond. When the koi are hibernating in the winter, you want the warmest water to stay at the bottom of the pond to keep the koi safe.
